Effective date: March 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using Lectern (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users of the App.
2. Use of the App
Lectern is a sheet music reader for Android devices. You may use the App for personal and professional music-related purposes. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its related systems
- Redistribute or resell the App or its content
3. Purchases and Payments
Lectern is free to download with an optional one-time purchase to unlock Pro features. All purchases are processed through Google Play and are subject to Google Play’s payment terms. All sales are final unless otherwise required by applicable law. Refund requests should be submitted through Google Play.
4. Cloud Storage Integration
Lectern integrates with Google Drive and Dropbox to enable backup and sync of your sheet music library. By connecting these services you agree to their respective terms of service. Lectern does not store your files on its own servers — all files remain in your own cloud storage accounts.
5. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, and assets, is owned by Conant Raj Kumar and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Lectern name, logo, or other branding.
6. User Content
You retain full ownership of any sheet music files and annotations you create or import into the App. Lectern does not claim any ownership over your content.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Lectern does not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your own risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Conant Raj Kumar shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or device damage.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
